Mother's Day at Pioneer Farms

Today Pioneer Farms had a Mother's Day Tea and Victorian Fashion Show. A friend was involved and asked me to participate. Apparently, the person originally organizing the show bowed out at the last minute so it was less of a fashion show and more window dressing. The food was wonderful; one of the docents made most of it. There were bite size scones with clotted cream, veggies, fruit, cookies, and five different sandwiches.

There were several decades represented. Because the fashion show idea went south, we greeted guests throughout the house and talked about our clothes. I took three dress changes as did my friend, so it worked out well. The public seemed to really enjoy it.

Hopewell Furnace Dress Done

The dress is done. Not sure I like this pattern. The instructions could be a little lacking in places. I think my choice of fabric was not quite what worked best for this pattern. It also called for no fastening on the outer bodice; however, I found I needed at least two at the waist. These photos are not that great and without petticoats, but I hope to get better ones later either at the event or at some part during the weekend I'm there.
