Help with colors

I'm having a heck of a time deciding on the ribbon for this fabric. Obviously, I don't have access to custom matching ribbon so I'm trying to find something but can't decide on color, solid, woven?

So, here is the fabric and the inspiration. Any suggestions would be welcome, especially on ribbon color!

Annette - going by Mme. M's dress, use the light ground color with a contrasting edge color to come the closest. So light pink with a deep pink or green stripe from your print, or barring a compatible shade, a metallic gold would do nicely.

You may find better options by making ribbon-sized strips from silk yardage, as decent ribbon is incredibly hard to find. You can even make your matching tassels by pulling threads from the faux ribbon yardage too.

Thanks Robin. That was what I thought I'd have to do. I have ordered a pink and a green with flowers. I'm just hoping the pink is light enough. If not, there are several shades of pink so it'll do.

My goodness. I am sure you will have as many choices as the flowers and leaves have several hues within them. I would do just as the models gown and match the hues in the blooms, leaves and stems. The smaller ribbons running down the bodice could simpley be matching colors. Could you not use some of the dress material itself to make the larger bow and the streamers, (I don't know what the proper name is), from her shoulders? It could be cut into smaller widths and backed with white satin ribbon or a light material making it a ribbon. Or do that in 'reverse', ribbing a wide ribbon with the dress material? What ever you do I am sure it will be beautiful.

Not and answer, but I LOVE this painting...and will we be seeing this dress at the conference this year?
